METRO is expanding the subway from West Falls Church, through Tysons Corner to Reston.  The construction is well underway and due to open in a couple of years.  The most recent news is that it may be mid-2014 instead of the fall of 2013.  Stay in touch. 

At the present time the METRO station itself is rising in the median of the Dulles Access Road and between 267 and Wiehle Avenue the construction activity is for the 7 story, below ground, 2300 car, parking garage.  On top will be the 900+ apartments and condominiums.  The studio, 1 and 2 bedroom residences will be joined by a hotel, conference center and shops.

The next stage will take it to 2 more Reston stations and on to Route 28, Dulles Airport, and Broadlands/Ashburn.  After Wiehle it will be several more years before reality -- but should be coming. 

April 5, 2011 was the official groundbreaking ceremony for the parking garage "big dig" and here's a link to the story in the Reston Connection.  The site at the Dulles Toll Road and Wiehle Avenue will include more than just parking.  A hotel and housing units are coming, too.
